Imperial Tour: Castel del Monte and Trani
Full day / 4 people minimum
Set off to discover the octagonal castle of Castel del Monte and the city of Trani
Castel del Monte is a fortress built by Frederick II, Holy Roman Emperor and King of Sicily. The medieval stronghold, defined "stupor mundi", stands on a hill in the Alta Murgia Nation Park and is considered a UNESCO site. Its strange octagonal shape has given rise to many rumors: perhaps it was used as an astronomical observatory, perhaps as an imposing hunting lodge, certainly being so different from all the Apulian architecture it has always aroused a lot of curiosity.
The place is near the city of Trani, another pearl of our territory overlooking the sea.
